  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • flour
  • confectioners sugar - 1/2 c
  • unsalted butter - 1 c
  • whole cloves or ground cloves - 1 item

How to make clove cookies:

Mix butter, sugar and vanilla. Blend in flour and salt. Chill dough in refrigerator overnight. Roll into 1-inch balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Stick 1 whole clove in top of each cookie. Bake for 10 minutes in a 350° oven, or until light
