- butter or margarine
- flour - 2 Tbsp
- salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
- low-fat milk - 2 c
- minced onion - 3 Tbsp
- elbow macaroni - 1 lb
- 4 c - 1 lb
- ground mustard - 1/4 tsp
How to make classic macaroni and cheese:
Cook macaroni in boiling, salted water until tender. Drain and keep hot. Toss 12 ounces cheese with the flour, onion, mustard, salt and pepper.
