Ingredients/Components
- flour - 6 Tbsp
- butter - 6 Tbsp
- medium onion - 1 item
- medium potatoes - 3 item
- medium carrots - 2 item
- to 6 slices bacon - 4 item
- finely chopped clams - 1 pt
- Milkman powdered milk - 6 c
- Dash, parsley and turmeric
How to make clam chowder:
Fry bacon; remove. Stir-fry clams in bacon grease. Stir-fry carrots, onion and potatoes until done. Add butter, if needed. Remove veggies. Add butter to remaining bacon grease. Add flour and spices. Fry until golden. Add 6 cups milk all at once; stir constantly until mixture thickens. Do not boil. Crumble in bacon and serve.Recipe categories: Soups & stews, Chowders, Clams.
