Ingredients/Components

  • milk - 1 c
  • butter or margarine - 1/4 c
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • water - 1/2 c
  • chicken broth - 2 c
  • parsley - 1 tsp
  • cans minced clams - 2 item
  • onion, finely chopped - 1 item
  • white wine - 1/4 c
  • finely chopped carrots - 2 c
  • potatoes, peeled and cubed - 2 3

How to make clam chowder:

Saute onion and carrots in butter. Add to a soup pot the onion, carrots, potatoes, salt, chicken broth and water. Cook until potatoes are tender. Add parsley, juice from clams, milk and wine. Simmer 5 minutes. Add clams. Simmer 5 more minutes and serve.
