Clam chowder
Ingredients/Components
- chopped celery - 1 c
- chopped carrots - 1 c
- dash of pepper - 1 item
- large onions, chopped - 2 item
- potatoes - 2 c
- salt to taste - 1 item
- thyme - 2 Tbsp
- bottles clam juice - 2 item
- large can tomatoes - 1 item
- salt pork, chopped small - 1/2 lb
- cans clam - 2 oz
How to make clam chowder:
Saute salt pork and onions over low heat until onions are tender. Add carrots, celery, pepper, can of tomatoes plus 1 can of water. Add potato chunks when vegetables are 1/2 done.When potatoes are done, add clams and juice, the thyme and salt. Heat thoroughly. Serve with hot crusty Italian bread.
