Ingredients/Components

  • chopped celery - 1 c
  • chopped carrots - 1 c
  • dash of pepper - 1 item
  • large onions, chopped - 2 item
  • potatoes - 2 c
  • salt to taste - 1 item
  • thyme - 2 Tbsp
  • bottles clam juice - 2 item
  • large can tomatoes - 1 item
  • salt pork, chopped small - 1/2 lb
  • cans clam - 2 oz

How to make clam chowder:

Saute salt pork and onions over low heat until onions are tender. Add carrots, celery, pepper, can of tomatoes plus 1 can of water. Add potato chunks when vegetables are 1/2 done.

When potatoes are done, add clams and juice, the thyme and salt. Heat thoroughly. Serve with hot crusty Italian bread.
