Ingredients/Components

  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour - 3 3
  • baking powder - 2 Tbsp
  • large eggs - 2 item
  • bottle clam juice - 1 oz
  • Crisco shortening for frying - 1 item
  • can chopped clams or baby clams - 1 item

How to make clam cakes:

Mix all ingredients except shortening together. Batter should be moist. Heat Crisco in deep fryer or large electric frying pan. Be sure shortening is very hot, about 400°. Drop batter by heaping teaspoonfuls into hot shortening. Cook about 5 minut
