Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 Tbsp
- salad oil - 2 Tbsp
- basil - 1/4 tsp
- garlic clove, minced - 1 item
- chopped parsley - 1/4 c
- large onion, chopped - 1 item
- can tomatoes - 1 oz
- medium green pepper, chopped - 1 item
- shrimp, shelled - 1 lb
- table wine - 1/2 c
- hard shelled clams
- bass or other fish, cut into chunks
- crab imitation okay, cut into chunks
How to make cioppino:
Forty-five minutes before serving: In hot oil, cook onion, pepper and garlic until tender. Add tomatoes plus liquid, wine, parsley, salt and basil; heat to boiling. Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer 15 minutes.Increase heat to medium-high. Still in shells, add clams. Cook 10 minutes; stir. Add fish, shrimp and crab; cook another 5 minutes and serve over hot rice or noodles.
