Cinnamon swirl bread
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/4 c
- cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
- milk - 1/2 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 3 3
- water - 1/4 c
- melted margarine - 1 Tbsp
- egg - 1 item
- margarine - 1/4 c
- active dry yeast - 1 pkg
How to make cinnamon swirl bread:
Grease loaf pan. In large bowl, mix 1/4 cup sugar, yeast, salt and 1 cup flour. Heat milk, water and 1/4 cup butter until lukewarm. Add to flour mixture; beat 1 minute. Add 1 cup additional flour and the egg; beat 2 minutes. With spoon, stir in 1 to 1 1/2 cups flour until dough holds shape. Turn out onto floured board. Knead 8 minutes or until smooth and elastic. Cover with waxed paper and towel. Let rest 20 minutes. Punch dough down and roll into 8 x 15-inch pan. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with 2 tablespoons sugar and cinnamon. Roll up jelly roll fashion. Seal ends; place seam side down in loaf pan. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate 2 to 4 hours.Before baking, remove wrap; pierce air bubbles with oiled toothpick. Let stand at room temperature 20 minutes. Bake 40 to 45 minutes at 350° or until bread sounds hollow when tapped.
