Cinnamon sticks
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- cream cheese - 8 oz
- egg yolk - 1 item
- sticks melted margarine or butter - 2 item
- loaf sandwich bread, crusts removed and rolled flat - 1 item
- sugar and cinnamon for rolling - 1 item
How to make cinnamon sticks:
Mix beaten egg yolk, softened cream cheese and 1/2 cup sugar together. Spread on flattened sandwich bread. Roll up each slice of sandwich bread and then roll in melted butter and then roll into a mixture of granulated sugar and cinnamon. (About 1 cup sugar and 2 to 3 tablespoons cinnamon.) These have to be completely frozen before baking so, after rolling up a batch, lay them out on a sheet of foil; cover with a sheet of plastic wrap and top with more roll ups. Repeat process until all of the bread is used. Freeze overnight or until you plan to bake them.Bake at 400°, seam side down, for 15 to 20 minutes. They are really good and people will be amazed they're made with bread!
