Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1/2 c
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • salt - 2 Tbsp
  • flour
  • cooking oil - 1/2 c
  • warm water - 1 qt
  • beaten eggs - 2 item
  • dry yeast - 3 Tbsp
  • powdered skim milk
  • soft butter or margarine - 5 Tbsp
  • Beat well
  • powdered sugar to creamy frosting consistency - 1 item

How to make cinnamon rolls:

In large bowl, combine eggs, sugar, salt, oil and milk. Beat well. Add and mix yeast and warm water. Add flour a little at a time. Let rise to double. Punch down. Make rolls and let rise again. To make rolls, pat dough out. Spread with butter or margarine. Sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon to taste, nuts and raisins. Roll up and cut. Let rise. These can be frosted or caramelized. Bake at 375° for 20 minutes. Makes approximately 24.Icing For Rolls:6 oz. cream cheese5 Tbsp. soft butter or margarine1 tsp. vanilla powdered sugar (to creamy frosting consistency) Spread on hot cinnamon rolls.

To caramelize: In bottom of pan, put one stick melted butter, 1/2 cup chopped nuts and 3/4 cup brown sugar or Karo syrup. Place rolls on top. Let rise and bake. Turn out on aluminum foil immediately.
