  • sugar - 1/2 c
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • milk - 1 Tbsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • boiling water - 1 c
  • egg - 1 item
  • shortening - 1 c
  • self-rising flour - 6 c
  • warm water - 1 c
  • yeast
  • Let cool

How to make cinnamon rolls:

Combine first 4 ingredients. Let cool. Add egg and mix together. Add yeast dissolved in warm water. Add flour. Let rise 1 hour and then work down. Roll out dough and spread with butter. Sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon. Roll up and slice. Bake at 350° for 20 minutes. The quantity of butter, sugar and cinnamon is measured by your own judgment.Icing:1 c. powdered sugar1 Tbsp. milk1 tsp. vanilla Mix and spread on rolls while hot.
