  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • water - 1 qt
  • cider vinegar
  • Worcestershire sauce - 1 tsp
  • chili powder - 2 Tbsp
  • can tomato sauce - 1 oz
  • ground allspice
  • clove garlic - 1 item
  • large onions, chopped - 2 item
  • lean ground beef - 2 lb
  • black pepper - 1 tsp
  • large bay leaves - 3 item
  • cumin seed or ground onion - 1 tsp
  • red pepper or chili pepper - 1/2 tsp

How to make cincinnati chili:

Crumble raw, do not brown, ground beef into water. Add rest of ingredients. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 3 hours. Remove garlic clove and bay leaves. Add whole red peppers, if desired, for spicier taste. Serve over rice or may be served in bowl with chips, or grated Cheddar cheese and chopped onions.
