Cincinnati chili
Ingredients/Components
- cinnamon - 2 tsp
- salt - 2 Tbsp
- water - 8 c
- vinegar - 1 Tbsp
- allspice - 1 tsp
- chili powder - 2 Tbsp
- ground beef - 4 lb
- large onions, chopped - 4 item
- can tomato paste - 1 oz
- black pepper - 1 tsp
- bay leaves - 6 item
- Worcestershire - 2 Tbsp
- red pepper - 1 tsp
- cans red kidney beans - 3 item
How to make cincinnati chili:
Mix all but beans in a large stockpot. Simmer for 3 hours. Spoon off fat while cooking. Add kidney beans for the last 30 minutes of simmer time. Serve over corn chips or cornbread topped with grated sharp Cheddar cheese. Can be frozen for later use.Recipe categories: Main dish, Ground beef, Chili.
