Christmas relish
Ingredients/Components
- celery seed - 1 Tbsp
- medium onions - 9 item
- mustard seed - 1 Tbsp
- medium carrots - 9 item
- red peppers - 9 item
- medium green tomatoes - 10 item
- cups sugar - 6 item
- cups vinegar - 3 item
- or 3 stalks of celery chopped - 2 item
How to make christmas relish:
Pour juice from a jar of whole dill pickles, but keep the juice.Slice pickles in 1 inch chunks. Put half of them back into the jar and add 1 cup of sugar. Add the last half of pickles and add another cup of sugar.
Add a dash or two of tabasco sauce to the juice. Pour juice over pickles to cover. Replace lid and tip back and forth a few times for the sugar to dissolve.
Leave for 3 days on counter. Turn a few times each day. Place in refrigerator. They are now ready to eat.
