  • granulated sugar
  • water - 1/2 c
  • white corn syrup - 3/4 c
  • flavoring - 1 tsp
  • Remove from heat and add flavoring and 1 teaspoon coloring
  • peppermint - red - 1 item
  • anise - purple - 1 item
  • sassafras - yellow - 1 item
  • cinnamon - orange - 1 item
  • wintergreen - green - 1 item

How to make christmas hard candy:

Boil sugar, syrup and water to 300° (hard crack). Remove from heat and add flavoring and 1 teaspoon coloring. Pour over powdered sugar slab. Sprinkle with powdered sugar. Cut into ribbons and then into triangles with scissors.Flavors and Colors: oil of clove - blue green peppermint - red anise - purple sassafras - yellow cinnamon - orange wintergreen - green
