Christmas fruit cookies

Ingredients/Components

• cinnamon - 1 tsp
• vanilla - 1 tsp
• salt - 1/2 tsp
• chopped nuts
• flour
• shortening - 1 c
• molasses - 2 Tbsp
• raisins - 1 c
• cloves - 1 tsp
• white sugar
• baking soda, dissolved in 3 Tbsp - 1 tsp
• stewed fruit apples - 1 c

How to make christmas fruit cookies:

Cream shortening and sugar. Add fruits, nuts, vanilla and soda water. Add eggs and molasses and mix well. Add flour and spices sifted together. Mix well; drop by spoonful on well-greased cookie sheet and bake at 350° for 15 minutes. Makes 8 dozen. Flavor improves with age.
