Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk - 3 4
- flour - 6 c
- nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- shortening - 1 c
- sour milk - 1 c
- anise extract - 1 tsp
- soft butter or margarine - 1/2 c
- Add eggs
- red and green food coloring - 1 item
- rainbow sprinkles - 1 item
How to make christmas cookies:
Cream sugar and shortening. Add eggs. Sift dry ingredients and add alternately with sour milk. Add vanilla and roll out. Use cookie cutters. Bake at 350° for 6 to 12 minutes. Let cool and frost with Christmas frosting.Christmas Frosting:1 lb. confectioners sugar1/2 c. soft butter or margarine1 tsp. anise extract3 to 4 Tbsp. milk red and green food coloring rainbow sprinkles Blend sugar, butter and milk well. Add anise. Separate into 2 bowls. Put few drops of food coloring in bowl. Stir well. Frost cookies. Pinch of sprinkles on each cookie.Recipe categories: Desserts, Drop cookies, Cookie and brownie.
