  • sugar - 2 c
  • eggs - 2 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • milk - 3 4
  • flour - 6 c
  • nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
  • baking powder - 2 tsp
  • shortening - 1 c
  • sour milk - 1 c
  • anise extract - 1 tsp
  • soft butter or margarine - 1/2 c
  • Add eggs
  • red and green food coloring - 1 item
  • rainbow sprinkles - 1 item

How to make christmas cookies:

Cream sugar and shortening. Add eggs. Sift dry ingredients and add alternately with sour milk. Add vanilla and roll out. Use cookie cutters. Bake at 350° for 6 to 12 minutes. Let cool and frost with Christmas frosting.Christmas Frosting:1 lb. confectioners sugar1/2 c. soft butter or margarine1 tsp. anise extract3 to 4 Tbsp. milk red and green food coloring rainbow sprinkles Blend sugar, butter and milk well. Add anise. Separate into 2 bowls. Put few drops of food coloring in bowl. Stir well. Frost cookies. Pinch of sprinkles on each cookie.
