Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 7 c
- salt - 1/2 c
- water - 2 c
- vinegar - 8 c
- celery seed - 2 Tbsp
- cabbage - 8 c
- mustard seed - 4 Tbsp
- turmeric - 3 tsp
- onions - 8 item
- red sweet peppers - 11 item
- green tomatoes - 8 c
- green sweet peppers - 24 item
How to make chow chow:
Chop all vegetables. Put the salt over them and mix up. Let stand overnight. Next day, wash and drain. Squeeze all juice out. Put in pot. Add the remaining ingredients. Cook 3 minutes. Put in hot jars and seal.Recipe categories: Condiments, etc., Vegetables, North american.
