Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- salt - 1/2 c
- vinegar - 1/2 gal
- celery seed - 1/2 Tbsp
- cabbage - 2 qt
- onions - 6 item
- ground mustard - 1/4 c
- green tomatoes - 1 qt
- red bell peppers - 3 item
- green bell peppers - 3 item
- white mustard seed - 3 Tbsp
- cloves, tied in bag - 1/2 Tbsp
How to make chow chow:
Heat to boiling. Add the well drained vegetables and cook slowly until tender (about 1/2 hour). Pack in hot pint jars. Adjust lids and process in boiling water bath (canner) for 10 minutes.Recipe categories: Condiments, etc., Vegetables, North american.
