Ingredients/Components

  • sugar
  • cinnamon - 1 Tbsp
  • salt - 3 Tbsp
  • vinegar - 1 qt
  • cloves - 1/4 tsp
  • allspice - 1 Tbsp
  • dry mustard - 3 Tbsp
  • green peppers - 10 item
  • large onions - 8 item
  • red peppers - 6 item
  • green tomatoes

How to make chow-chow:

Chop tomatoes, onions and peppers; cover with salt. Let stand overnight. Drain. Add red peppers, vinegar, spices and sugar. Cook 40 minutes. Put into jars and seal tops.
