Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk - 2 Tbsp
- flour - 2 c
- coconut - 1/2 c
- soda - 2 tsp
- margarine, softened - 1/2 c
- powdered sugar - 2 c
- chopped walnuts - 1 c
- cream cheese, softened
- undrained crushed pineapple - 1 (20
- nuts, coconut and toffee bits optional - 1 item
How to make chop suey cake:
Frosting:1 (8 oz.) cream cheese, softened1/2 c. margarine, softened2 c. powdered sugar2 Tbsp. milk1 tsp. vanilla nuts, coconut and toffee bits (optional) Do not use mixer. In bowl, combine flour, sugar, eggs, soda, pineapple and juice. Mix with wooden spoon. Add nuts and coconut. Pour into greased 9 x 13 pan. Bake at 350° for 30 to 40 minutes, until puffed and browned.Mix cream cheese and margarine until well blended. Add powdered sugar and milk. Mix until smooth. Add vanilla. Ice cake while warm. Garnish all over with nuts, coconut and toffee bits. Store in refrigerator. Enjoy.
