Chop suey
Ingredients/Components
- molasses - 6 Tbsp
- hamburger
- stalks celery, diced - 5 item
- medium onion, sliced - 1 item
- small can bean sprouts, drained - 1 item
- large can chop suey vegetables, drained - 1 item
- small can mushrooms stems and pieces, drained - 1 item
How to make chop suey:
Put celery and onion in pan, covered, with water and boil until tender. In another pan, saute hamburger and mushrooms together in olive oil. Add some Worcestershire sauce for color (2 tablespoons), then add in bean sprouts and vegetables. Add the celery and onion when tender, along with its water (add more water if needed). Add the molasses and simmer for about 5 minutes.To thicken, mix Gravy Master with cornstarch and water in a small bowl and add to the chop suey while simmering (use 2 tablespoons of cornstarch and enough Gravy Master for color). Serve with Chinese noodles or rice.
