Chop suey
Ingredients/Components
- cornstarch - 3 Tbsp
- water - 1 c
- soy sauce - 1/4 c
- salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
- onion, chopped - 1 c
- can mushrooms - 1 item
- celery, chopped - 1 c
- can bean sprouts - 1 lb
- can water chestnuts - 1 item
- oil for browning - 1 item
- chop suey meat - 2 2
How to make chop suey:
Brown meat in oil. Add water, salt and pepper. Cover and cook until meat is tender, about 45 minutes. You may need to add more water. Add celery and onions. Cook 1/2 hour. Add mushrooms. Mix soy sauce and cornstarch. Stir into cooked mixture until thick. Add drained bean sprouts and water chestnuts. Serve over rice.Recipe categories: < 4 hours, Time to make, Main dish.
