Chocolate turtle cake
Ingredients/Components
- butter, softened - 1/2 c
- vanilla - 1 Tbsp
- chopped pecans - 1 c
- pkg - 1 lb
- evaporated milk - 6 Tbsp
- water
- oil - 1/2 c
- cocoa - 3 Tbsp
- Mix well
- caramels - 1 lb
- German chocolate cake mix - 1 pkg
- can sweetened condensed milk Eagle Brand - 1 oz
How to make chocolate turtle cake:
Combine chocolate cake mix, butter, water, oil and 1/2 can of condensed milk in mixing bowl. Mix well. Pour 1/2 of batter into greased and floured 13 x 9-inch baking dish. Bake at 350° for 20 to 25 minutes. Melt and mix caramels with remaining condensed milk over low heat until smooth. Spread over baked layer. Sprinkle with pecans. Cover with remaining cake batter. Bake 25 to 35 minutes longer or until cake tests done. Cool.Frosting:1/2 c. butter3 Tbsp. cocoa6 Tbsp. evaporated milk1 lb. pkg. sifted powdered sugar1 Tbsp. vanilla Combine butter, cocoa and evaporated milk in small saucepan. Melt over low heat.
