Chocolate tea bread
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2/3 c
- salt - 3/4 Tbsp
- chopped nuts - 3/4 c
- butter - 1/4 c
- cocoa - 1/3 c
- egg - 1 item
- sifted cake flour - 2 c
- white vinegar - 3 Tbsp
- and 1 Tbsp - 3/4 c
- backing soda - 1 Tbsp
How to make chocolate tea bread:
Cream butter; add sugar and cream till light and fluffy; add eggs and beat well. Add milk to vinegar. Mix and sift together flour, salt, soda and cocoa. Stir in nuts. Add to creamed mixture alternately with liquids, beating until blended after each addition. Pour into greased small loaf pan. Bake in moderate oven (350 degrees) for 1 hour. Cool. Wrap and store in refrigerator.(Slices best after stored several hours.)
