Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk - 1/4 c
- chopped nuts - 1 c
- water - 1 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- cocoa - 1/4 c
- buttermilk - 1/2 c
- shortening - 1/2 c
- plain flour - 2 c
- box confectioners sugar - 1 item
- stick oleo - 1 item
- Icing:1 stick oleo
How to make chocolate surprise cake:
Icing:1 stick oleo1/4 c. milk4 tbsp. cocoa1 c. chopped nuts1 tsp. vanilla1 box confectioners sugar In a sauce pan, bring to a boil, oleo, cocoa, shortening & water. Pour over flour and sugar and beat well. Add vanilla, soda, cinnamon & buttermilk; add well beaten eggs. Pour into greased 9x13 in. pan. Bake 20-25 minutes at 400 degrees or until done.Icing: 5 minutes before cake is done. Bring to a boil, oleo, milk & cocoa. Pour over confectioners sugar. Add vanilla & chopped nuts. Spread over hot cake. Poke holes in cake to let icing run down for a sweet surprise in every bite.
