  • sugar - 2 c
  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • flour - 2 c
  • water - 1 c
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • cocoa - 4 Tbsp
  • shortening - 1/2 c
  • beaten eggs - 2 item
  • buttermilk or sour cream - 1/2 c
  • stick oleo or margarine - 1 item

How to make chocolate spice cake:

Sift flour and sugar together. Combine oleo, shortening, cocoa and water in pan. Bring to boil, pour this mixture over sugar and flour and stir well. Add eggs, buttermilk, soda, cinnamon and vanilla. Bake at 350° until done.
