Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk - 6 Tbsp
- chopped nuts - 1/2 c
- flour - 2 c
- water - 1 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- cocoa - 3 4
- shortening - 1/2 c
- buttermilk or sour milk - 1/2 c
- box powdered sugar - 1 item
- oleo or butter - 1 c
- Topping:1 cube butter or oleo
How to make chocolate sheet cake:
Topping:1 cube butter or oleo3 Tbsp. cocoa6 Tbsp. milk1 box powdered sugar1 tsp. vanilla1/2 c. chopped nuts Mix sugar and flour. Heat oleo or butter, cocoa and water with shortening until boiling point. Pour hot mixture over dry ingredients and add buttermilk, soda, eggs and vanilla. Mix well and pour in shallow pan. Bake at 400° for 20 minutes.Topping: Put butter or oleo, cocoa and milk in pan. Heat until it begins to boil. Remove from stove and add powdered sugar. Blend well. Add vanilla and nuts. Pour over hot cake.
