Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk - 6 Tbsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1 c
- flour - 2 c
- water - 1 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- cocoa - 4 Tbsp
- buttermilk - 1/2 c
- shortening - 1/2 c
- box powdered sugar - 1 item
- eggs, slightly beaten - 2 item
- stick oleo - 1 item
- Bring oleo, shortening, cocoa and water to a rapid boil
How to make chocolate sheet cake:
Sift together the sugar and flour. Bring oleo, shortening, cocoa and water to a rapid boil. Pour over dry ingredients. Stir well. Add buttermilk, soda, eggs, vanilla and salt. Mix well and pour in a greased 16 x 12 x 3/4-inch pan. Bake at 350° for 20 to 25 minutes.Icing:1 stick oleo4 Tbsp. cocoa6 Tbsp. milk1 box powdered sugar1 tsp. vanilla1 c. chopped nuts Start 5 minutes before cake is done.
