Ingredients/Components

  • all-purpose flour - 1 c
  • sugar - 1 c
  • butter or margarine, softened - 1/2 c
  • eggs - 4 item
  • baking powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Raspberry Cream Center recipe to follow - 1 item
  • butter - 6 Tbsp
  • Grease 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan
  • softened butter - 1/2 c
  • raspberry flavored liqueur* - 2 Tbsp

How to make chocolate raspberry dessert:

Heat oven to 350°. Grease 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan. Combine flour, sugar, 1/2 cup butter, baking powder and eggs in large bowl; beat until smooth. Add syrup; blend thoroughly. Pour batter in prepared pan. Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until wooden pick inserted comes out clean. Cool completely in pan on wire rack. Prepare Raspberry Cream Center and spread on cake. Cover; refrigerate until chilled.Raspberry Cream Center:2 c. powdered sugar1/2 c. softened butter2 Tbsp. raspberry flavored liqueur* *One-fourth cup raspberry preserves and 1 teaspoon water may be substituted for the raspberry flavored liqueur.

Combine. Beat until smooth.

Melt remaining 6 tablespoons butter and chocolate chips or flavored chips in a small saucepan over low heat. (I use the microwave.) Pour glaze over chilled dessert. Cover and refrigerate left over dessert. Makes about 12 servings.
