Ingredients/Components

• sugar - 3 c
• eggs - 5 item
• vanilla - 1 tsp
• milk - 1 c
• butter or margarine - 1/2 lb
• salt - 1/2 tsp
• flour - 3 c
• cocoa - 5 Tbsp
• baking powder - 1/2 tsp
• shortening - 1/2 lb

How to make chocolate pound cake:

Cream butter, shortening and sugar together. Add eggs, beating after each one. Add vanilla. Sift flour, salt, baking powder and cocoa together. Add flour mixture alternately with milk. Bake 80 minutes in a 325° oven.
