Chocolate pound cake
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3 c
- vanilla - 1 Tbsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- egg yolks - 5 item
- cocoa - 4 Tbsp
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- plain flour - 3 c
- sticks butter - 2 item
- Crisco shortening - 1/2 c
- milk 1/2 evaporated, 1/2 regular - 1 c
How to make chocolate pound cake:
Keep egg whites in separate bowl.Preheat oven to 300°. In separate bowl combine flour, baking powder and cocoa. Set aside. Combine all other ingredients in electric mixing bowl. Gradually add flour mixture. Once blended well, add egg whites. Blend until all ingredients are mixed well (approximately 2 to 3 minutes). Pour mixture in pound cake cooking pan that has been greased with shortening and lightly floured. Cook for 1 1/2 hours.
