Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3 c
- eggs - 5 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 3 c
- cocoa - 1/2 c
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- vegetable shortening - 1/2 c
- margarine 2 sticks - 1/2 lb
How to make chocolate pound cake:
Cream margarine and shortening, adding sugar gradually. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Sift together three times the flour, baking powder, cocoa and salt. Add to mixture alternately with the milk. Add vanilla. Pour batter into a large tube pan that has been greased and dusted with flour.
