Ingredients/Components
- butter - 1/2 lb
- shortening - 1/2 c
- sugar - 3 c
- eggs - 6 item
- vanilla flavoring - 2 tsp
- lemon flavoring - 2 tsp
- flour - 3 c
- baking powder - 1/2 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- cocoa - 4 Tbsp
- milk - 1 c
- Sift dry ingredients; add alternately with milk to creamed mixture
- evaporated milk - 1/2 c
- margarine - 1/4 lb
How to make chocolate pound cake:
Cream butter and shortening; add sugar, eggs and flavorings. Sift dry ingredients; add alternately with milk to creamed mixture. Bake at 325° for 1 hour and 20 minutes. Do not open oven door for 1 hour.Chocolate Filling:2 c. sugar1/2 c. evaporated milk1/4 lb. margarine2 Tbsp. cocoa1 tsp. vanilla flavoring Combine all ingredients; bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
