  • shortening - 1/2 c
  • sugar - 3 c
  • eggs - 6 item
  • vanilla flavoring - 2 tsp
  • lemon flavoring - 2 tsp
  • flour - 3 c
  • baking powder - 1/2 tsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • cocoa - 4 Tbsp
  • milk - 1 c
  • Sift dry ingredients; add alternately with milk to creamed mixture
  • evaporated milk - 1/2 c
  • margarine - 1/4 lb

How to make chocolate pound cake:

Cream butter and shortening; add sugar, eggs and flavorings. Sift dry ingredients; add alternately with milk to creamed mixture. Bake at 325° for 1 hour and 20 minutes. Do not open oven door for 1 hour.Chocolate Filling:2 c. sugar1/2 c. evaporated milk1/4 lb. margarine2 Tbsp. cocoa1 tsp. vanilla flavoring Combine all ingredients; bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Cook for 1 minute and 30 seconds. Yields 15 servings.
