Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- eggs - 5 item
- vanilla - 2 tsp
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 3 c
- cocoa - 2/3 c
- baking powder - 1/2 tsp
- Crisco - 1/2 c
- sticks room temperature butter - 2 item
How to make chocolate pound cake:
Grease and flour large tube cake pan. Heat oven to 325°. Cream butter, Crisco and sugar. Add eggs one at a time. Sift together flour, baking powder, cocoa and salt. Add to creamed mixture with milk and vanilla. Mix well. Pour into greased and floured tube pan. Bake at 325° for approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes or until you can insert a toothpick and it comes out clean. If desired, place semi-sweet chocolate morsels on top as soon as it comes out of the oven.Recipe categories: Desserts, Chocolate, Cakes.
