Chocolate pound cake
Ingredients/Components
- eggs - 3 item
- vanilla extract - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- flour
- baking powder - 3/4 tsp
- margarine, softened - 3/4 c
- semi-sweet chocolate morsels - 2 c
- packed light brown sugar - 3/4 c
- pecans optional - 3/4 c
How to make chocolate pound cake:
In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt. In large mixing bowl, cream butter, brown sugar and vanilla for 2 minutes. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well. Beat in dry ingredients. Stir in 1 1/2 cups of morsels and the optional pecans. Spoon into greased 9 x 4 loaf pan. Bake in preheated oven at 325° for 55 to 60 minutes. Cool in pan for 20 minutes. Remove from pan; cool completely on wire rack.Place remaining morsels in small plastic bag. Microwave on High for 30 seconds to 1 minute. Cut small corner of bag and squeeze melted chocolate through. Drizzle over cake.
Hint: Line bottom of pan with wax paper for easy removal.
