Chocolate potato cake

Ingredients/Components

• sugar - 2 c
• milk - 1/2 c
• chopped nuts - 1 c
• butter - 1/2 c
• eggs, separated - 3 item
• cocoa - 1/2 c
• baking powder
• shortening - 1/2 c
• sifted flour
• mashed potatoes - 1 c
• each: cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice and salt - 1/2 tsp

How to make chocolate potato cake:

Beat together very well sugar, butter, shortening, egg yolks and potatoes. Add all at once, sifted dry ingredients, milk and nuts. Stir until well blended. Beat egg whites until stiff; fold into batter. Spread evenly into a lightly greased and floured 10-inch tube pan. Bake at 350° for 1 hour.
