  • sugar
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • stick margarine - 1/2 item
  • eggs, separated - 3 item
  • cold water - 2 c
  • cocoa
  • dash of salt - 1 item
  • 9-inch baked pie shell - 1 item
  • flour, lightly packed - 1/2 c

How to make chocolate pie:

Mix sugar, flour and cocoa together. Add enough of the water to make a paste. Beat in egg yolks well. Heat remaining water with butter and salt until butter is melted. Add water mixture to first mixture and cook until thick (over double boiler). Remove from heat; add vanilla. Cool and pour into baked 9-inch pie crust. Cover with meringue and brown in oven.
