Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk - 2 c
- cornstarch - 4 Tbsp
- eggs, separated - 3 item
- cocoa - 3 Tbsp
- pinch of salt - 1 item
- stick butter - 1/2 item
- pinch of cream of tartar - 1 item
- Meringue: egg whites
How to make chocolate pie:
Meringue: egg whites pinch of cream of tartar4 Tbsp. sugar Mix dry ingredients. Add slightly beaten egg yolks to milk and mix. Add to dry ingredients. Add butter. Cook over medium heat until thick. Remove from heat and add vanilla and stir in well. Pour in baked pie shell.Meringue: Add cream of tartar and egg whites. Beat at high speed for 2 minutes. Add sugar, one tablespoon at a time, beating until fluffy. Cover pie and bake at 350° until golden brown.
