Chocolate pie
Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- eggs - 6 item
- vanilla - 1 Tbsp
- milk - 4 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- flour - 1/2 c
- cocoa - 1/2 c
- stick butter or margarine - 1 item
How to make chocolate pie:
Meringue: Beat egg whites at fast speed until it rises stiff. Add 1/2 cup sugar and mix well. Add a pinch of salt and cream of tartar. Add 1/2 teaspoon vanilla flavoring.To Prepare Pie: After you have separated eggs, set aside whites for meringue. Add yolks to sugar, cocoa and flour. Add butter and milk. Stir until well mixed. Cook at medium speed until thick. Add vanilla flavoring, then pour into cooked pie shells. Add meringue and place in oven at medium-low heat until meringue is golden brown. Makes 2 (9-inch) pies.
Note: If you want coconut pie, add coconut flavoring and coconut (leaving out the vanilla and cocoa). Do the same with banana pie.
