Chocolate pie
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- flour - 5 Tbsp
- milk - 3 c
- can Carnation milk - 1 item
- egg yolks and whites - 5 item
- vanilla - 1 Tbsp
- Smith deep-dish pie crusts - 2 Mrs
How to make chocolate pie:
Note: Separate eggs; save egg whites for meringue.Mix flour, sugar and cocoa, then add milk, canned milk and egg yolks. Heat on medium heat on stove, constantly stirring until mixture comes to boil. Boil about 2 minutes, then add vanilla.
Beat egg whites, gradually adding 1 cup sugar until whites are stiff. Pour chocolate mix into browned pie crust, then spread meringue on top. Cut meringue with knife to relieve moisture pockets. Be sure to seal meringue to edge of pie crust. Put pies into 350° oven until tops are brown.
