• vanilla - 1 tsp
• salt - 3/4 tsp
• flour - 1 to
• brown sugar - 3/4 c
• baking soda - 1 tsp
• chocolate chips - 1 pkg
• shortening - 1 c
• hot water - 1 tsp
• oatmeal - 2 c
• white sugar - 3/4 c
• nut meats - 1 c

How to make chocolate oatmeal cookies:

Mix all ingredients and drop on greased sheet. Flatten with fork and bake at 400° until golden brown.
