Ingredients/Components

  • eggs - 2 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • granulated sugar - 1/2 c
  • pkg - 1 1/2
  • baking soda - 1 tsp
  • all-purpose flour
  • firmly packed brown sugar - 1 c
  • chopped walnuts - 1 c
  • salt optional - 1/2 tsp
  • 2 sticks margarine or butter, softened - 1 c
  • Quaker oats quick or old fashioned, uncooked - 2 c
  • Nestle cocoa - 1/2 c

How to make chocolate oatmeal chippers:

Heat oven to 350°. Beat margarine, sugars, eggs and vanilla until creamy. Gradually add combined flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt; mix well. Stir in remaining ingredients. Drop by rounded measuring tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 9 to 10 minutes or until set. Cool 2 minutes on cookie sheet; remove to wire rack. Cool completely. Store tightly covered. Makes 4 dozen.
