Chocolate mousse



  • sugar - 3 Tbsp
  • vanilla extract - 1 tsp
  • egg yolks - 3 item
  • sweetened whipped cream - 1 item
  • whipping cream - 1 c
  • 6 oz - 1 pkg
  • grated semi-sweet chocolate - 1 item

How to make chocolate mousse:

In a 1-quart saucepan, mix chocolate chips, 1/2 cup of the whipping cream and sugar. Stirring frequently over low heat, cook until mixture is smooth.

In a medium bowl, beat egg yolks with a fork. While beating, pour in warm chocolate mixture and beat until blended. Stir in vanilla. Refrigerate for 1 1/2 hours or until the consistency of pudding. In a small mixer bowl at medium speed, beat remaining 1/2 cup whipping cream until stiff; set aside. Whip chilled chocolate mixture for 2 minutes or until fluffy and color lightens. Fold in whipped cream. Spoon into serving dishes. Refrigerate at least 1 hour or until set. Serve with sweetened whipped cream and grated chocolate. Makes 6 (about 1/3-cup) servings.
