  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • milk - 1/2 c
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • confectioners sugar
  • baking powder
  • sifted flour
  • unsweetened cocoa - 1/2 c
  • Crisco - 2/3 c
  • strong brewed coffee or 1 Tbsp - 1/2 c

How to make chocolate mocha cake:

Frosting:3/4 c. Crisco1 Tbsp. vanilla1/2 tsp. salt1/2 c. unsweetened cocoa4 1/2 c. confectioners sugar1/2 c. strong brewed coffee or 1 Tbsp. instant coffee, dissolved in 1/2 c. hot water Preheat oven to 350°. Combine the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in a mixing bowl. Stir in 3/4 cup milk and Crisco. Beat with mixer at medium speed for 2 minutes. Add eggs, 1/2 cup milk and vanilla. Beat 2 minutes more. Pour batter into 2 greased and floured 9 x 1 1/2-inch round pans. Bake at 350° for 35 to 40 minutes or until the cake tests done. Cool 15 minutes; remove from pans. Cool thoroughly. Fill and frost with frosting.

Frosting: Cream Crisco, vanilla, salt and cocoa. Add sugar and coffee alternately, beating until smooth. Makes 16 servings.
