Chocolate icebox pie
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- egg yolks - 3 item
- cold water - 1/4 c
- boiling water - 1/2 c
- unsweetened chocolate
- envelope unflavored gelatin - 1 item
- stiffly beaten egg whites - 3 item
How to make chocolate icebox pie:
Melt chocolate. Soften gelatin in cold water and stir into the hot mixture. Add egg yolks (beaten light) with 1/2 cup sugar. Add salt and vanilla. Cool. Beat remaining 1/2 cup sugar into egg whites and fold into chocolate mixture. Pour into cooled pie shell.Recipe categories: Desserts, Pie, Pies and tarts.
