Chocolate fudge
Ingredients/Components
- Sugar - 2 c
- Salt - 1/8 tsp
- Milk - 2/3 c
- Vanilla - 1 tsp
- Butter or Margarine - 2 tbsp
- Corn Syrup - 2 tbsp
- Unsweetened Chocolate or 1/2 c - 7 oz
How to make chocolate fudge:
Butter 9 x 9 x 3 inch pan. Heat sugar, milk, chocolate, corn syrup and salt in a 3 quart saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly until chocolate is melted and sugar is dissolved. Cook stirring occasionally to 234° on candy thermometer. Remove from heat and add margarine. Cool without stirring to 120° (bottom of pan will be lukewarm). Add vanilla, beat constantly with wooden spoon until candy is thick and no longer glossy, about 5-10 minutes. Mixture will hold its shape when dropped from spoon. Quickly stir in and spread into loaf pan. Cut into 1 inch squares.Recipe categories: Desserts, Candy, Fudge.
