  • sugar - 1 c
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • eggs, separated - 2 item
  • butter - 2 Tbsp
  • flour - 6 Tbsp
  • cocoa - 3 Tbsp
  • milk - 2 c
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • Combine egg yolks and 1 cup milk
  • cream of tartar - 1/4 tsp

How to make chocolate cream pie:

Mix together the sugar, flour, salt and cocoa in large pan. Combine egg yolks and 1 cup milk. Combine with dry ingredients. Add other cup of milk. Cook over medium heat until thick, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Mix in butter and vanilla. Pour into baked pastry shell.Meringue:2 egg whites1/4 tsp. cream of tartar4 Tbsp. sugar1/4 tsp. vanilla Beat egg whites and cream of tartar together until soft peak forms. Add sugar a little at a time and continue beating until egg whites are stiff and glossy. Add vanilla. Spread over the pie filling and bake at 400° for 8 to 10 minutes or until browned.
