Chocolate covered cherries
Ingredients/Components
- margarine, softened - 6 Tbsp
- sifted powdered sugar
- milk
- vanilla - 1/4 tsp
- cherries with stems about - 48 item
- pkg - 1 oz
- Crisco - 1 Tbsp
How to make chocolate covered cherries:
Cream butter; gradually add sugar. Beat well. Blend milk and vanilla. Chill mixture for 2 hours. Drain cherries and dry on paper towels. Place bowl of sugar mixture on ice to keep cool. Shape into balls. Shape small amount of sugar mixture around each cherry. Place on wax paper; chill about 2 hours.Melt chocolate and shortening (Crisco) in double boiler; dip cherries by stem in chocolate. Place on wax paper.
