Chocolate cinnamon rolls
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/4 c
- cinnamon
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour
- cocoa - 1/3 c
- egg - 1 item
- shortening - 1/4 c
- nuts - 1 item
- soft butter - 1 Tbsp
- warm water - 3/4 c
- yeast - 1 pkg
How to make chocolate cinnamon rolls:
Dissolve yeast in water. Add shortening, salt, sugar, egg, cocoa and 1 cup flour. Beat 2 minutes at medium speed. Stir in remaining flour. Blend well. Cover and let rise until double in size (about 1 hour). Stir down by beating 25 strokes. Turn dough onto floured board. Roll out to 12 x 9-inch rectangle. Spread with butter and cinnamon sugar mixture. Sprinkle nuts on top. Roll up and cut into 12 pieces. Let rise until double (about 40 minutes). Bake at 375° for 25 minutes.
